Lifetimes of our Z₀ = 0.01 and Z₀ = 0.001 sequences as C and M stars on the AGB as compared with the timescales derived by Girardi & Marigo (2007) from the Magellanic Clouds. In the case of M-type stars, we computed the lifetime of the star as a O-rich object with M_Bol< −3.6 to be consistent with the values presented by Girardi & Marigo (2007). This is why the values plotted here do not agree with the τ_TP−AGB(M) in Table 2.
