As can be seen, H2 does not have a dominant influence except at densities of about 4 cm-3 where H2 cooling (green line) becomes comparable to the standard ISM cooling (blue line) and at high densities where the heating by H2 formation (red line) is significant (but without modifying the temperature substantially).
