Notes. D (Col. 2) is the diameter of the particle as shown in Fig. B.1. Dt (Col. 5) and vt (Col. 6) are the diameter and speed derived from Eqs. (5) and (6) based on the measured amplitude Um (Col. 3) and impact duration Tc (Col. 4). We assumed a density ρ = 250 kg m-3 and Young’s modulus Ep = 15 MPa. The measurements were obtained with an impact speed of about 0.94 m s-1 on the Z-side (3rd PZT) of DIM.
