RCW 49 field as seen at radio continuum (9 GHz, in red) and Spitzer-GLIMPSE band 1 (3.6 μm) in blue and band 4 (8 μm) in green. The stars in the field of view, including the core of the cluster, are clearly visible at 3.6 μm. The close association of the near-IR and radio emission is evident in the north and south shells and in the bridge.
