Solar light coming from the (α, β) direction produces a tilted plane wave of equation exp(−2iπ(αx + βy)/λ) on the occulter M (plane 1). The Fresnel diffraction pattern is computed at the telescope aperture T, which is set at the distance z from the occulter (plane 2). The representation is a cut of the xOz plane.
