IRAS map at λ = 60 μm covering the galactic plane and B68. North is up and east is left. B68 is located 71 above the galactic plane. At a distance of 150 pc, this translates to a galactic altitude of 40 pc. The position of the B2IV star θ Oph is also indicated. Its parallax of π = 7.48 ± 0.17 mas (van Leeuwen 2007) puts it at a distance of 134 pc. Its distance to B68 is approximately 20 pc.
