The observed degree of polarisation plotted against the optical continuum colour (as defined in Fig. 6) of 4C 38.41. The polarisation and flux ratio measurements are simultaneous, with the polarisation data being derived from the median value within a 5000–7000 Å bin from the Steward Observatory spectropolarimetry.
