Numerically calculated trajectories of particles with β = 0.5, but with different impact parameters b, in the ISD frame. The dust is concentrated downstream from the Sun. The particles accelerate near the Sun, and decelerate afterwards again to their original speed. The colorbar shows the scale of the absolute particle speed with a maximum of 50 km s-1. The particles are started at −50 AU from the Sun in 1997, and reach the region of the Sun about 9.5 years later.
