An analytical representation of the systematic differences HIPPARCOS-FK5

In the present paper we present an analytical representation of the relations between the systems of the HIPPARCOS catalogue and the Basic FK5 catalogue. These relations were used in the construction of the "Sixth Catalogue of Fundamental Stars (FK6)"for the reduction of the FK5 to the HIPPARCOS system. A comparison has been made between the present results and those derived by Mignard and Frœschlé recently. A computer program for evaluating analytically the systematic differences will be provided via the Internet facility.
