Infall and outflow within 400 AU from a high-mass protostar. 3D velocity fields from methanol and water masers in AFLG 5142

by C. Goddi, L. Moscadelli, and A. Sanna, A&A 535, L8

Very Long Baseline Interferometer (VLBI) observations of the source MM-1 in the high-mass star-forming region AFGL 5142 are presented. The 3D velocity field of the circumstellar gas is mapped with high spatial resolution. The analysis indicates an infall of circumstellar material onto this intermediate- to high-mass protostar, which is the most direct evidence of infall found so far.
