Horizontal and temporal averages are illustrated with dotted lines, while the envelope indicates ±1 standard deviation in time. We use black arrows to underline the different noteworthy behaviours here; namely, the chromospheric temperature increase as a function of the magnetic amplitude we inject, along with a non-monotonic response at the base of the corona.
