Notes.
Most of the data are taken from Karachentsev et al. (2013), unless otherwise stated.
Based on BVK magnitudes from Karachentsev et al. (2013) and M/L-colour relations from Bell & de Jong (2001), based on a scaled Salpeter IMF. This value is much lower than the estimate of 7.6 × 109 M⊙ reported by Cook et al. (2014), obtained from the 3.6 μm emission and assuming a constant M/L = 0.5.
The SFRs were calculated using Hα and FUV data and formulae in Karachentsev et al. (2013), and rescaled to a Chabrier IMF. These values are quite consistent with the estimates by Lee et al. (2009), namely 0.34 and 0.5 M⊙ yr−1 (after accounting for the IMF conversion).
