Left: Length–age evolution diagram for the various morphological classes observed in our simulations. Theoretical expectations (for different jet Lorentz factors) are overlaid, illustrating the deviations between the fully 3D simulated cases and the simplified 1D analytical models. Right: Associated evolution of lobe expansion speed as a function of source age for different subclasses of radio galaxies. The observed variations emphasize the role of jet thrust, (de)collimation, and environmental pressure gradients. Despite having a constant jet power across the simulations, the distinct behavior of the nose-cone structures indicates that the jet radius and speed may be more fundamental parameters (i.e., compared to the jet power).
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
