Spectral energy distribution of the J1017+6116 AGN, spanning radio to X-ray frequencies. The radio variability is likely driven by shock waves in the jet and Doppler boosting effects, which may correlate to episodic energy injections or changes in viewing angle (see Sect. 5.1).
