Pericentre vs. apocentre plot of the planetesimal disc at the end of our simulations at 5 Myr, where we can clearly distinguish the excited and unperturbed planetesimal populations. Excited planetesimals from the outer disc can penetrate the inner disc down to a few au from the host star. Planetesimals are colour-coded based on their formation region, the colour scale is truncated at 100 au to better resolve the inner disc. The vertical and horizontal dashed lines at 40 au split the disc in the inner and outer region.
