Velocity and velocity dispersion of the GC system. Monte Carlo Markov Chain results of fitting a maximum likelihood function to the velocities recovered for the 5 GCs around FCC 224 with the highest S/N to recover the velocity dispersion and recessional velocity of the host galaxy. The MCMC was run using a uniform prior, and returned V = 1403 . 8 7.6 + 6.0 $ V = 1403.8^{+6.0}_{-7.6} $ km s−1 and a dispersion velocity of σ GCs = 12 . 69 6.49 + 10.35 $ \sigma_{\mathrm{GCs}} = 12.69^{+10.35}_{-6.49} $ km s−1. This velocity dispersion is considered an upper limit based on previous studies that shown that uniform priors tend to overestimate the velocity dispersion of galaxies when a small number of tracers is used.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
