Notes. Values for the MW were taken from Bland-Hawthorn & Gerhard (2016), Chrobáková et al. (2022) and O23 (denoted by a, b, c respectively). Values for scale heights and flare parameter of the Auriga discs were taken from Grand et al. (2017). The scale length was fitted to the simulation snapshot, and agree with the scale length found in Grand et al. (2017) for Au6, Au16, and Au24. The value for ɀcut is taken to be 3hɀ,8kpc for the Auriga discs. The angle a for the cut in ɀ is calculated such that α = tan−1 (ɀcut/Rflare). Rflare is found by fitting hz(R) ∝ exp(R/Rflare). The number of stars in our observed mock sample is shown in the second to last column. The rightmost column shows the number of simulation particles in the sample after performing the spatial selection on the particles in the snapshot.
