Expected luminosity of the 2.2 MeV line, L2.2 MeV, as a function of the total accretion luminosity L of an XRP. Both axes are scaled by the critical accretion luminosity Lcrit. At low mass accretion rates and luminosity, the flux in the 2.2 MeV line is proportional to the total accretion luminosity. At high mass accretion rates, however, the radiative force decelerates the accretion flow above the NS surface, which results in a sharp drop in luminosity in the 2.2 MeV line.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.

Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
