Same panels as in Fig. 8, showing SUPER type-2 (filled red circles) and type-1 (filled blue circles) measurements along with IFS-based results from the literature of other type-2 (empty red star; XID5395, Brusa et al. 2016) and type-1 AGN (empty blue symbols; Cano-Díaz et al. 2012; Carniani et al. 2015; Vayner et al. 2021a) at z ∼ 1 − 3. The orange symbols represent red obscured systems that were nevertheless optically classified as type-1 AGN (Perrotta et al. 2019; Vayner et al. 2021b; Cresci et al. 2023; Veilleux et al. 2023). Outflow velocities from Brusa et al. (2016) and Perrotta et al. (2019) have been corrected to account for discrepancies with the vout and vmax definitions we adopted (see Sect. 6). While the ‘standard’ blue type-1 and red type-2 from the literature agree with values found in SUPER, the orange points, almost all at Lbol ≳ 1047 erg s−1, clearly show that higher outflow velocities are recovered when we select optical type-1 but dusty obscured objects.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
