Central region of Halo 1 after high-pass spatial filtering. The scale and orientation are indicated. Green circles mark sources identified as GCs, and yellow circles mark the components of an apparent binary AGN. The two candidate SMBHs are separated by less than 1 kpc in projection. The image was created by applying a 3-pixel Gaussian high-pass filter to three JWST images as marked at the top of the figure before combining them into the color composite.
