Polarization vectors overplotted on the WISE 12 μm image of BRC 17 (left panel) and BRC 18 (right panel). The length of the vectors corresponds to the degree of polarization, and the orientation corresponds to the position angle measured from the north and increasing toward the east. A vector corresponding to a polarization of 2% is shown for reference. The dashed white line shows the orientation of the Galactic plane. The red star shows the location of IRAS sources, and the yellow stars show the positions of HH objects in both images (Reipurth 2000). The green arrows in both panels show the outflow directions. The outflow sources are HH 243 for BRC 17 and IRAS 05417+0907 for BRC 18.
