Wave amplitude profiles of (a) the selected acoustic wave sets with km−1 and (b) gravity wave sets with
km−1. Waves tend to be dissipated by the molecular viscosity and thermal diffusivity in a realistic atmosphere, meaning that the amplitude has a maximum value at a certain height, called the “damping altitude”. In a nondissipative atmosphere, the wave amplitude exponentially increases with height and is illustrated by the dashed line.
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
