Methodology used to separate the selected variable X-ray sources into the three groups of likely Galactic, likely extragalactic sources, and sources of unknown type. We used the X-ray flux, and information that was collected on the most likely counterparts to the X-ray detections by CatWISE2020, Gaia, VHS, and the optical spectra observed by the AAT.
