Depth distribution of metal-silicate mixture. The depth of a particle is the shortest distance between this particle and the surface of the impact remnant. The curves are the kernel density estimates for the depth of metal-silicate mixture produced by impacts with different projectile-to-target mass ratios (γ) and states of the planetesimal cores. The pink shaded bands show the depth of two pallasites in their parent body (38±2.5 km and 45±4 km) estimated using their cooling rates (Bryson et al. 2015).

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
