Distributions of metal and silicate in the second-largest impact remnants at the end of simulations. The cross-sections are in the plane of the projectile trajectory. All particles originate from the projectile. The metal and silicate particles are red and yellow, respectively. The impacts are hit-and-run impacts with γ = 0.1, υ = 3.0 km s−1, υ/υesc = 9.5, and θ = 60°. The cores of the projectile and the target were solid (a) or liquid (b).
