Period P as a function of vertical wavenumber kz for (a) the slow-body waves and (b) the fast-body waves for n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 with m = 2 in the subphotospheric condition (cs, e > cs > vA). The white area in panel a marks the range of vA > vp > cT within which the slow-body wave solution can exist, and that in panel b represents the range within which the fast-body wave can exist (cs, e > vp > cs). The inset figure in panel a shows the magnified figure in the ranges of 0.011 < kz < 0.012 km s−1 and 155 < P < 165 s. The dashed line represents the period of 160 s. The color-shaded regions in panel b represent the regions with the same cutoff radial mode nM; yellow is nM = 2, green is nM = 3, blue is nM = 4 and purple is nM ≥ 5. We have taken the internal sound speed of cs = 6.3 km s−1, internal Alfvén speed of vA = 0.56cs, and external sound speed of cs, e = 1.7cs.
