Effect of varying the Bragg angle or desired resolving power R on the required beam diameter per fiber. Beams with smaller diameters than given here will limit spectral resolution, due to the PSFs per wavelength growing larger without a corresponding increase in separation. The top plot shows the linear relationship between R and beam diameter (and illuminated lines), which is standard for transmission gratings. The bottom plot shows the effect of varying the Bragg angle.
