Notes. Dust-to-gas mass ratio of small grains (fdg), resolution (Nr × Nθ), approximate number of cells per scale height (Hr), and total simulation time (tf) in units of the Keplerian orbital time at 5.5 au (T5.5). Also shown for reference are the normalized radiative cooling time Ωtcool and the ratio between the cooling time and the local critical value for instability in Eq. (7) (Sect. 4.1), shown at the maximum height in the domain (z/r ≈ 0.3) and at the height determining the vertically global stability criterion in Eq. (8).
