While the fitted model images include different black hole spins, accretion types, and different electro-thermodynamics (M 87^∗ 2017 V; M 87^∗ 2017 VIII), the black hole spin vector is pointing away from Earth in all images. The 2018 EHT results are consistent with a black hole spin vector pointing away from Earth.
