Presumed birthplaces of Sco-Cen subgroups with respect to the evolving LB. Shown in purple in each panel is the semi-transparent enveloping surface of that volume in our fiducial simulation where the gas speed exceeds 1 km s−1, being representative of the medium belonging to the LB, together with the normalised velocity vectors of the centroids (arrows) and the centroids’ 3σ error ellipsoids computed for the 10000 realisations of the populations US (left panel), Lupus (middle panel), and Ophiuchus (right panel) at their respective birth times (numbers at the top). The coordinates of the centroid (Xc, Yc, Zc) and its peculiar velocity components (Uc, Vc, Wc) are (73.3 ± 51.6, 4.6 ± 25.6, 39.3 ± 20.1) pc and (3.9 ± 4.8, −5.8 ± 2.4, 5.4 ± 1.3) km s−1 for US, (90.9 ± 23.3, −35.3 ± 14.1, 40.6 ± 6.2) pc and (6.6 ± 3.9, −7.4 ± 2.2, 2.5 ± 1.3) km s−1 for Lupus, and (107.8 ± 17.1, −15.9 ± 4.9, 65.4 ± 6.5) pc and (4.8 ± 4.1, −3.7 ± 1.2, −0.2 ± 1.5) km s−1 for Ophiuchus, with errors indicating 1 standard deviation.
