SMBH separation in simulation B as in Fig. 3. For comparison the SMBH separations in ROMULUS25 are shown as dotted lines. In ROMULUS25 the galactic inspiral takes about a factor of two longer than in our simulation and there BH2 and BH3 are merged before any interaction with the other galaxy took place.
