Hinode/EIS observations over the flaring period. The left panel of this image shows the intensity of the He II 256.32 Å line observed by EIS, as a function of time and solar-y position, formed in the blue wing of the line between −190 and −10 km s−1. Three features discussed in Sect. 4.2.2 are highlighted with arrows and numbers. The right panel shows the intensity of the Fe XXIV 192.03 Å line. A square-root intensity scaling has been applied for both lines.
