Surface brightness profiles across R2 with the best-fit model overlaid. The model corresponds to the emission from a projected broken power-law density distribution plus a constant surface brightness that accounts for the residual sky background. The data has been binned to a minimum S/N of two. On the bottom of the panel the residuals of the best-fit (i.e. (S_X,obs − S_X,mod)/ΔS_X,obs) are displayed. In the inset, we show the location of the best-fit position of the X-ray discontinuity with respect to the radio relic (dashed line).
