Notes. Stars eliminated due to periods longer than the coverage of the observations (step 4 for the chromospheric analysis). Typical timescales τ and lower estimate of timescales derived from linear and quadratic analysis (Appendix D), even though they are not robust because they are longer than the temporal coverage, are indicated as possible timescales that may have to be considered when searching for exoplanets. The V-K values are from Table B.1 for stars in our sample, and are either from the CDS or based on a G-K law as for some of the stars in our sample. The
