The colourful background is composed of the known OGLE variable stars: EBs (light pink), fundamental-mode Cepheids (light red), first-overtone Cepheids (light green), type II Cepheids (yellow), RRab (turquoise), RRc (royal blue), and δ Scuti stars (dark violet).
