In the left panel, we show the correlation between the residuals of the M_BH − M_*, b relations and those of the σ − M_* relation at fixed stellar mass. The correlation between the residuals of the M_BH − σ relation and those of the M_* − σ relation at fixed velocity dispersion are shown in the right panel. Data points refer to the sample of Savorgnan et al. (2016). The contours refer to model galaxies with a bulge-to-total stellar mass ratio B/T > 0.8 for which the black hole sphere of influence can be resolved.
