WISE color magnitude plot for the SS, HI fast rotator and AGN galaxies, following the classification scheme of (Jarrett et al. 2019, their Fig. 10). The green dotted lines indicate the zone populated by QSO/AGN, following Jarrett et al. (2011). The blue line gives the sequence of SF galaxies (Eq. (1) from Jarrett et al. 2019), from quiescent objects (low [W2–W3]) to actively star-forming objects (high [W2–W3]). The purple line, labeled “warm AGN”, indicates the region where low-level Seyferts and Liners reside (see Jarrett et al. 2011). We adopt this as the dividing line between star-forming and AGN dominated galaxies and flag galaxies above this line as AGN-dominated.
