Gas accretion rate as a function of disc age for all discs in both photoevaporation prescriptions. Once photoevaporation opens up a gap in the gas disc, the gas within disc gap is quickly cleared by photoevapo-ration and viscous evolution. This results in a rapid reduction in the gas accretion rate. In this figure, we show the results without including the spread in the time of formation of the stars in a cluster (see Sect. 2.6).
