Standard deviation of the different error contributions for different star luminosity as a function of wavelength. The read noise term is assumed constant. The photon noise term is dominated by the background at longer wavelengths, but the effect of leakage light can be seen at the shorter wavelengths. The instrumental noise dominates for the brighter stars and follows the overall trend of Fig. 4, with small ripples caused by atmospheric absorption lines.
