Median contrast in the dark hole region (1.5 λ/D to 19.0 λ/D in x by −20 λ/D to 20 λ/D in y) as a function of time. Each frame has an exposure time of 1 second. Photon noise equivalent to a zeroth magnitude star was added. The final contrast is between 2 × 10−9 and 3 × 10−9.
