Radial profiles (azimuthally averaged) of the vortensity (41) at different times in simulations with Stokes number τ₀ = 10⁻³ and different metallicities Z. The occurrence of sharp peaks in this quantity suggests that the smallest scale structures appearing in our simulations are most likely not sufficiently resolved in order to properly compute numerical derivatives contained in the quantity for all grid points. This should, however, not affect the qualitative interpretation of the plots.
