Density and velocity cut at three time steps for runs A0.5M01, A0.5gam1.25M01, and A0.1M01. When thermal energy is high (runs A0.5M01 and A0.5gam1.25M01), the collapse remains symmetric, except after the pivotal stage (top right panel). When thermal energy is low (runs A0.1M01), the collapsing cloud is extremely unstable and non-axisymmetric motions develop even before the pivotal stage.
