Behaviour of the skew-normal-like model for different values of its parameters. a: the scale parameter, σ, has a very similar effect on the width of the curve as the variance of a Gaussian function. b: for positive (negative) values of the shape parameter, n, the curve is skewed to the right (left), i.e. the model rises more (less) rapidly than it decays. c: in case of b > A, the model is positive on a final interval only and its skewness is not as prominently visible as for 0 ≤ b ≪ A. For all three cases presented here we consider a = 1 and m = 0.
