EUV wave overview as observed in SDO/AIA 193 Å running difference images. Top panels a–c: snapshots of the first wave with the quasi-symmetric and quasi-circular propagation around the eruptive center. Bottom panels d–f: second wave exhibiting an asymmetric character of expansion toward SE. We follow the EUV wave in the SE sector where two waves are observed and in the NW sector, where we see only the first wave. A movie accompanying the figure is available online (movie4).
