Top panels: near-infrared CMDs for a 10-arcmin field radius centred on VVV-CL002 (left) and VVV-CL003 (right), with the cluster members shown in lighter colours, from VIRAC2 PSF photometry (Smith et al., in prep.). The large scatter in the background populations is due to the combined effect of the line of sight depth and the differential reddening. Bottom panels: similar zoomed-in CMDs for the PM selected cluster members. The position of the RC giants is clearly seen for both clusters. The mean ridge line of the metal-rich GC NGC 6440 from VIRAC2 photometry is shown for comparison (solid line), shifted to match the clusters reddenings and distances.
