Example of an anemone region located at the inside edge of a coronal hole feature. Panel a: SDO/AIA 193 Å image taken on 06 September 2011, with an anemone active region (NOAA 11288, circle) confined within the coronal hole (SPoCA 2453) boundary, highlighted by a yellow line. The area enclosed in the square (red) is used to estimate the magnetic field topology of the region using the Potential Field Source Surface (PFSS) model, as shown in panel b. Extrapolated magnetic field lines for the active region (black) indicate a closed-field topology, resembling a fountain or a sea-anemone feature, surrounded by an open magnetic field (orange) structure from the coronal hole.
