Absolute V-band LC of SN 2014ab compared with well-observed examples of the three subtypes of SN IIn discussed by Taddia et al. (2013). This includes the long-lasting 1988Z-like objects (circles) SN 1988Z (Turatto et al. 1993), SN 2006tf (Smith et al. 2008), SN 2010jl (Stoll et al. 2011; Zhang et al. 2012; Maeda et al. 2013; Fransson et al. 2014), and KISS15s (Kokubo et al. 2019), the 1994W-like objects (squares) including SN 1994W (Chugai et al. 2004), SN 2009kn (Kankare et al. 2012), and SN 2011ht (Mauerhan et al. 2013), which show a LC pleateau, and finally, the prototypical, rapidly-declining SN 1998S (triangles, Fassia et al. 2000).
