Decay power absorbed by the stripped material vs. its mass for our set of models. As before, the color coding distinguishes the SN ages, which cover from 100 to 300 d. The decay power absorbed is greater at earlier times (because the total decay power is greater earlier) or for greater masses of stripped material (because of the greater trapping). However, this does not imply that the Hα line is more easily seen earlier since the SN luminosity is also greater. The line luminosity may be high but the equivalent width, or pseudo-equivalent width, may be small and even null.
