Distributions of SFR for the MAGMA sample are shown as red-shaded regions in bins of Mstar; the SDSS10 sample in yellow-shaded regions and the fit to the SFMS (shown as a solid gray curve) reported by Hunt et al. (2019) are also shown. The close agreement of MAGMA with SDSS and the SFMS, except possibly for the lowest Mstar bin, suggests that starbursts do not dominate the galaxy population represented.
