SDSS images are in gri composite bands (first and third rows) with a size of 50.7″ × 50.7″. KiDS images are in r-band (second and fourth rows) with a size of 54.8″ × 54.8″. The depth of the KiDS imaging survey is ∼2.5 mag fainter than that of the SDSS imaging survey, revealing more subtle features.
